This photo contains the compleated piece that was given to a friend in March of 2010. The carving is known as a Noreseman on horse, and was carved on old barnboard at the old studio in Hedley, British Columbia. The finish is mineral oil.
It is said that when a lady married a Norseman, and he was a carver, he would present these spoons with chains to his bride. This was a form of a wedding ring in the Norse culture, Charles Caspersen is also know in historical re enactment groups ad from time to time travels to these events. In historical persona he is known in the SCA as Lord Kasper receiving his award of arms from the SCA August 2008 at an SCA event known as the Tir Righ Summer Investiture. Please note that this is not an official SCA site, although the SCA is publicly on the web for those interested.

Badger in a half shell: This carving measurements is about 4 cms in size. Miniatures can be carved. 
The chessboard is prepared for caving with the design. Chessboard itself was manufactured by Christiana Elizabeth Constable, located in Summerland, British Columbia.
